On September 14, 2021, the Marine and Coastal Resources Office 2, through the Mangrove Resource Conservation Division and the Coastal Resource Conservation Division, participated in a meeting to discuss the integration of community and beach area development in Ban Amphur through electronic media (VDO Conference). Representatives from various sectors, including government, private, and stakeholders, participated in this meeting. The meeting was focused on the Ban Amphur beach area in Na Chom Thian Subdistrict, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province.
During this meeting, the Arsomsilp Institute presented the ongoing project of developing the Ban Amphur community using a participatory process aimed at sustainable development. This project, known as the "Ban Amphur Community and Beach Area Development Project," has been ongoing since 2019. The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Policy Committee has included the "Ban Amphur Community and Beach Area Development Project" in its development plan for U-Tapao Airport and the Eastern Aviation City, with a seven-year implementation period (2021-2027). The goal is to make the Ban Amphur community a "model eco-cultural tourism city."
The Marine and Coastal Resources Office 2 is involved in the project details, specifically the Ban Amphur Canal Nature Study Trail, which aims to develop an ecotourism site, a natural learning center for children, students, and the general public, and a green space for the Ban Amphur community and Pattaya City.
